At the heart of “The Chevron Way” is our Vision...to be the global energy company most admired for its people, partnership and performance. We have an unwavering commitment to being a good partner focused on building productive, collaborative, trusting and beneficial relationships. To that end, in an ongoing effort to improve communication and provide clarity on Chevron expectations, Pairoj Kaweeyanun, President of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., invited all of Chevron Thailand’s contractors to attend a Contractor Forum at the Swissôtel Le Concorde Hotel on 11 February 2011.
A total of 290 participants attended this meeting; 102 Chevron representatives, and 188 representatives from 72 business partners/contractors. The theme for the forum was Operational Discipline, “every task, the right way, every time”. Joe Geagea, Managing Director of Chevron Asia South Ltd., emphasized the importance of Operational Discipline as we continue to work together on a common goal of “Zero Incidents” across the Business Unit.
The Thailand Management Team delivered a clear message on Chevron specific expectations especially related to Leadership Behaviors to Support Managing Safe Work. Assuring that front line supervisors share a common vision, and focus on implementing with excellence was touted as our next step in continual improvement. Specific topics of focus this year included Hazard Analysis, Work at Heights, Hand Safety and Medical Fit for Duty. Other Thailand specific updates included the new aviation center in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, and Chevron Thailand’s oil spill response capability for this region. Several contractors also shared successes, and best practices related to Glove Policy from Transocean, BBS implementation from Thai Aviation Services, and ZIP from Mermaid Offshore Service.
This forum provided Chevron with an opportunity recognize specific individuals and companies for their outstanding efforts and OE performance this year. This emphasizes that Protecting People and the Environment is a partnership and one of Chevron’s core values…
In 2011 we will continue our safety journey together, with a goal of incident-free operations for the entire Chevron Thailand organization.
